A Legacy of Reconciliation

With particular focus on youth, the Lucan Centre began as a centre for cross-border reconciliation on the island of Ireland. Notable awards of success during this time include the AIB “Better Ireland Award” [1995], and “Project of the Year” [1995] by the Department of Foreign Affairs in Ireland to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the United Nations.

Renewed Vision: Retreat, Resource, and Reconciliation

After extensive refurbishment, our new leadership team re-opened the Centre in 2014 with a fresh and compelling vision to be a safe and restful place of “everyday retreat” – a place where people can find, know, and enjoy God together. This vision is being delivered through focusing on three “R’s” – Retreat, Resource, and Reconciliation.

Peace cannot be kept by force; it can only be achieved by understanding.
